The Wilmington Fraternal Order of Eagles 1224 recently donated money to the girls golf program for new bags. They Lady Hurricane and head coach Kathy Collins said they want to thank the Eagles for their donation.

Springboro shot a 187 to Wilmington’s 200.

WHS is now 13-2 on the season.

For Springboro, Laura Webendorfer shot a 44, followed by Emily Schuetz with a 45, Meghan Schuets with a 49 and Miranda Goldshot with a 49. Playing but not scoring were Emily Dippold with a 54 and Kara Ungerman with a 55.

For the Lady Hurricane, Lyz Cox shot a 48, followed by Amanda Middleton with a 49, Gabby Brown with a 51 and Hannah Butcher with a 52. Playing but not scoring were Samantha Stewart with a 53 and Tori Crowe with a 56.

“This wasn’t our best performance of the season, but I knew when I scheduled Springboro it was going to be a difficult match. They are a very good team and I thought the experience would be beneficial for us in the long run. We were certainly disappointed with our scores today, but when I look at how far this team has come over the last year, you just cannot be disappointed for very long,” said WHS head coach Kathy Collins. “Currently, our scoring averages are down from a year ago and we have played more difficult courses. Hannah and Tori both recorded their personal best scores at Snow Hill today. Those are all great achievements. This team is resilient and I know we will bounce back well on Thursday at Legendary Run. After our match, we talked about our goals being the FAVC tournament in two weeks and Sectionals in three weeks. Today was just a lesson to keep us on the right track for meeting our goals later in the month.”
