GREEN TOWNSHIP — Glen Este was one stroke better Wednesday than Wilmington in a girls golf match at Snow Hill Country Club. Sarah Fryman was match medalist with a 53. “Sarah Fryman has had a very good week,” said WHS coach Kathy Collins. “She played well in (Tuesday) night’s match and was medalist tonight. She is very eager to continue to improve her scores and when her putting becomes a little more comfortable, her scores will come down.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (4) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 32 |

GREEN TOWNSHIP — Milford shot 199 and defeated Wilmington Thursday in a girls golf match at Snow Hill Country Club. “Our scores were not indicative of our progress this week,” WHS coach Kathy Collins said. “I thought every one of our players showed improvement in different aspects of the game. Overall, our putting was better this week and will help lower our scores as we continue through our season. We are taking little steps on learning and understanding the game. I am confident that this squad will continue to lower their scores as they gain more match experience.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (4) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 80 |

MORROW — Kings won the FAVC Shootout girls golf tournament Monday at Bel-Wood Country Club. Wilmington was seventh. “The Shootout was a difficult test for us and I knew that going into it,” said WHS coach Kathy Collins With five of our six players having never played an 18 hole match, I was well aware that we may struggle. The good sign for us is that we played better on the 2nd nine. Bel-Wood can be a very difficult course if you don’t hit the fairways and our players found that out early. I thought we stayed pretty focused throughout the match.” Kara Sikorski and Angela Fuller led Wilmington with 133s. Bel-Wood played 4,928 yards and to a par 71. MORROW — Harrison shot a 187 and defeated Wilmington and Anderson Wednesday at the Little Miami Golf Center in a girls golf match. “Overall, I was pretty pleased,” said WHS head coach Kathy Collins. “This was the first match ever for three of our players and only the second match of the season. We did a lot of good things, but will need to continue to work on improving our short game. This is a very young and inexperienced squad, but they have shown great improvement in the early weeks of our season.” The Hooper twins — Savannah and Sawyer — led Wilmington with identical 58s. Kara Sikorski shot a 59 on the 2,213-yard, par 35 layout. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (2) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 86 |
