PORTSMOUTH — The Wilmington Hurricane football squad traveled to Portsmouth Saturday evening to open its 2010 season against the Portsmouth Trojans. The host Trojans escaped with a 14 – 7 victory in a struggle dominated by the defenses.

Mandatory practice for the Rodger O. Borror Middle School football team begins 3 p.m. Monday.

The team will meet at the fieldhouse Monday to get equipment. Tuesday also is equipment day while the rest of week practice will be behind high school.
