Miami Trace and Wilmington in the first official game on the new turf at Wilmington College. It's underway .... read on.
It's final .... Miam Trace 35 and Wilmington 21. -------- 8:28 to play in the game and Miami Trace 35 to 21. Snap over head of WHS quarterback Brandon Arehart was recovered by Kyle Brickles. Trace took advantage as Tom Armstrong goes 21 for the TD and puts MT up by 2 scores. -------- Wilmington answers big time with a 13 yard Quinten Rollins TD run to make it 28-21 with 6:50 to play in the third. --------- Big big turn of events. After a Hurricane defensive stand, Miami Trace gets a 34 fumble return for a touchdown to turn the momentum and give MT a 28-14 ------ Nyles Williams displayed a little bit of Gary Williams with a 61 yard screen pass touchdown from Brandon Arehart. Duquette's PAT is good and we got a ball game. ------- Miami Trace takes a 21-7 late in the first half. But WIlmington right back knocking on the door with just seconds left we'll see... WHS unable to score so its 21-7 at the half. -------- Mmiami Trace goes the distance on the opening drive, 77 yards to take a 7-0. All runs and they made it look easy. --------- Just saw some lightning, it was off in the distance and I don't think they'll delay this one again but we'll keep our fingers crossed. Still looking at 8:30 for a start. -------- It was just announced that the game will kickoff at 8:30 p.m. We will have prgame show at 8:15 p.m. -------- The rain has completely stopped. The wind continues to blow from the pressbox side to the visitors side. There will be a delay in the start of the game, though an official announcement has not been made at this time. Neither team has warmed up yet so we are figuring a delay of at least 45 mintes to 60 minutes. Stay tuned right here. We will keep you up to the minute. -------- The rain has let up tremendously. The wind is hanging in there but the rain has slowed. The thunder is rumbling but the lightning has let up a bit. We are not certain of any delays for the start of the game but it is almost certain that the game will not start at 7:30 p.m. --------- However, the weather is not cooperating at all. It is really, really raining and very, very wind. Plenty of lightning and thunder here at Wilmington College so there is a good chance the game will be delayed from its original starting time of 7:30 p.m. We will keep you posted.
