OAK HARBOR - The Van Wert boys and girls track teams traveled to the outskirts of Toledo Saturday to compete in the Oak Harbor Invitational. The boys finished third, while the Lady Cougars were seventh out of 13 teams with a team score of 50 points.
   

*The boys' team had no individual or relay champions, but had several multiple scorers in a three events.
 

-Sam Tindall (fourth in 11.72 seconds) and Kirtis Calvelage (eighth in 11.72 seconds) in the 100-meter dash;

-Tindall (fifth in 23.21 seconds) and Calvelage (sixth in 23.91 seconds) in the 200-meter dash;

-Kenton Holliday (second in 10:08) and Jacob Bagley (sixth in 10:43) in the 3200-meter run.

*Other scoring is as follows:
   

-Ross Thatcher, fourth in the shot put (47 feet, 8 inches);

-The 4 x 800-meter relay team (Holliday, Blake Davis, Jacob Bagley and Aaron Bagley), fourth in 8:27.3;

-Tim Hoverman was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.03 seconds);

-Aaron Bagley was sixth in the 1600-meter run (4:43.03);

-The 4 x 100-meter relay team (Rhyan Gent, Tindall, Davis and Calvelage), third in 45.90 seconds;

-The 4 x 400-meter relay team (Davis, Tindall, Gent, Calvelage), seventh in 3:46.34.

*For the VW girls:

-Hannah Phlipot won the shot put event with a throw of 38 feet, 5.75 inches, and Jade Osenbaugh placed fourth with a throw of 34, feet, 9 inches.

-In the discus event, Osenbaugh took fifth place with a throw of 106 feet, 1 inch, while Phlipot was seventh with a throw of 100 feet, 7 inches.

-Lauren Taylor was the champion in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.  Her times were 5:27.17 and 11:43.3, respectively.

-Madison Riethman was third in the 800-meter run in 2:26.96 and also jumped for seventh place in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 7½ inches.

-The 4 x 800-meter relay team finished in eighth place and included Taylor, Riethman, Erica Davis and Katie Bono.
