The Van Wert County ACME sectional tournament was announced on Sunday with Crestview and Van Wert earning the number one and two seeds, respectively.
The Knights garnered the top-seed overall for the tournament while Van Wert earned the No. 2 seed. Delphos St. John's was named the three-seed while Lincolnview and Delphos Jefferson were named fourth and fifth, respectively.
The tournament is double elimination with the winner and runner-up advancing to the district tournament in Minster.
Tourney schedule:
-Today in Delphos
Game 1 (4 p.m.), Van Wert will take on St. John's at Stadium Park;
Game 2 (4 p.m.), Lincolnview will play Jefferson at Wildcat Field;
*The winner of Game 2 will stay at Jefferson and face Crestview at 6:15 p.m. for Game 3.
*The losers of Games 1 and 2 will face each other in the tournament's first elimination game at 6:15 p.m. at Stadium Park.
On Tuesday (Day 2 of the tournament):
*The winner of Game 3 will face the winner of Game 1 at 6 p.m. at Smiley Park in Van Wert (Game 5).
*The winner of Game 4 will face the Game 3 loser at Stadium Park in Delphos (Game 6), in the tournament's second elimination game, also at 6 p.m..
On Wednesday (Day 3 of the tournament):
*(Game 7) as the Game 6 winner will face the Game 5 loser, at Smiley Park at 6 p.m., for the right to play in the championship round and a berth in the district tournament.
On Thursday (Day 4 of the tournament):
*The championship round will be held at Smiley Park, between the Game 5 winner and the Game 7 winner. If the Game 7 winner wins the early game (Game 8, at 5 p.m.) a final game will be held (Game 9), starting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Smiley Park.
Special notes:
*If any sectional tournament games are rained out, those will be made up on July 4.
*The two advancing teams will start district play on Tuesday, July 7 in Minster.
