The Van Wert Lady Cougars fell to non-conference foe LCC Tuesday evening by a 45-21 count in girl’s basketball action. Poor offensive production once again led to the Lady Cougars’ demise, as LCC bolted to first half leads of 14-7 and 26-10.
The Lady Cougars came out in the third stanza and matched their counterparts from Lima on the scoreboard with seven points apiece, but then went ice cold from the floor once again as LCC ended the game on a 12-4 run.
Nikki Morrow and Molly Gamble each scored nine points for Van Wert. Kelly Ahman led LCC with ten points..
With the loss, Van Wert falls to 5-10 on the season, while LCC improves to 4-12.

Delphos St. John’s 47, Lincolnview 22
The Delphos St. John’s Lady Blue Jays defeated Lincolnview 47-22 Tuesday evening in non-conference girl’s basketball action in Middle Point.
The veteran Lady Jays opened the game having some trouble getting their offense untracked, but once they did, it was lights out on the youthful Lady Lancers.
Delphos St. John’s bolted to a 19-6 second quarter run after opening with a two-point, 8-6 advantage. Leading 27-12 at the break, St. John’s sealed the deal with a 14-5 tear in the third stanza to extend their lead to 41-17. Game over!
Zefiryn Bryan led all scorers with 18 points, as the Lady Blue Jay reached her 1,000th point of her illustrious career during the game.
No Lady Lancer reached double-digits.
With the win, St. John’s improves to 14-2, while Lincolnview falls to 2-13.

Crestview 38, Antwerp 31
Jessica Burger and Madison Preston tallied 11 points apiece for Crestview, as the Lady Knights got by Antwerp 38-31. For Antwerp, Alexis Jones scored 11 points.
The Lady Knights won the game with two first half bursts of offensive firepower. Crestview opened the game with an 11-4 run, and then ended the first half on a 9-2 tear for a commanding 20-6 advantage at the break.
Antwerp won the second half 25-18, but the damage had been inflicted by the Lady Knights in the first half and Crestview escaped with the “W”.
The win improves the Lady Knights to 12-3 on the season. Antwerp falls to 7-9.
