LIMA - Lima Central Catholic defeated visiting Crestview 25-17, 25-14, 19-25, 25-14 Tuesday to clinch the Northwest Conference volleyball title outright. It's the third-straight NWC banner for LCC's volleyball team. JoJo Krieg had 19 kills and 16 digs for LCC (19-1, 9-0), Alexis Diglio had 41 assists, Danielle Taflinger had 6 blocks and Taylor White had 2 aces.
KALIDA 3, PANDORA-GILBOA 0: Kalida won the Putnam County League title with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-20 victory over host P-G. Jess Knueve had 12 kills for Kalida (18-2, 6-0), Ashley Remlinger had 11 kills and 2 aces and Amy VonderEmbse had 3 aces and 20 assists.
OTTOVILLE 3, TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 0: Samantha Modica had 8 kills and 8 blocks for Ottoville in the 25-12, 25-19, 25-9 win. Chelsea Ditto had 3 aces and 7 kills while Tricia Honigford added 6 digs and 6 kills. Krista Good had 12 digs and 6 kills for Temple Christian (9-8) while Haley Sutton had 6 assists.
GROVE 3, LINCOLNVIEW 0: Columbus Grove defeated host Lincolnview 25-21, 25-8, 25-12. Morgan Kohls had 10 kills and 2 blocks for Grove (18-2) while Kristy Birkemeier had 5 aces and Erica Glass had 29 assists. Stacy Giessler had 5 kills and Paige McClure had 15 assists for Lincolnview (5-15).
SHAWNEE 3, VAN WERT 0: Rachel Ciminillo had 10 digs as Shawnee beat Van Wert 25-14, 25-18, 25-13 in WBL play. Jill Pajka had 21 assists for Shawnee (13-6, 7-1) while Megan Ream added 11 blocks.
DELPHOS JEFFERSON 3, ADA 0: Jefferson swept Ada 25-14, 25-16, 25-13 in an NWC contest. Mallorie Wilson had 13 kills for Jefferson (15-5, 6-3) while Jenna Miller had 8 assists, Stephanie Blockberger had 4 aces, Kristin Klausing added 7 digs. Morgan Dumbaugh had 2 aces and 10 digs for Ada (13-9, 5-4) while Holly Weber had 8 kills and 3 blocks.
WAYNE TRACE 3, AYERSVILLE 1: Wayne Trace over Ayersville 26-28, 25-21, 25-23, 25-9. Wayne Trace is now 14-7 overall, 4-2 in the Green Meadows Conference Leading Players: Maria Schaefer - 31-31 serving, eight aces, three blocks, 11 digs, 10-10 passing; Sara Priest - 7-7 serving, 24-25 passing, eight blocks, 42-48 hitting, 20 kills; Kristi Wenninger - 8-9 serving, 13 digs; Janelle Davis - 111-116 setting, 45 assists; Natalie Snyder - 35-38 hitting, 19 kills, 28 digs, 12-12 passing, eight blocks; Jenna Stoller - 20-27 hitting, 11 kills; Junior Varsity - Ayersville over Wayne Trace 25-15, 25-11; Wayne Trace falls to 10-8 overall, 1-5 in the GMC.
PARKWAY 3, VERSAILLES 2: Marian Bevington had 21 kills, Ashley Stose added 14 and the Parkway Lady Panthers pulled out a 3-2 Midwest Athletic Conference victory against Versailles Tuesday evening in Rockford. The 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23 and 15-8 victory improves the Black and Gold to 16-5 and 5-3 in the MAC. Katlyn Smith led the team in assists with 15 while Emily Crowell added four aces and Hannah Beougher 18 digs. Parkway travels to New Knoxville Thursday evening.
(Cross Country):
OTTOVILLE, LCC WIN TRI: Jim Heider (16:39) and Jim Kesner (17:26) finished first and second overall for Lima Central Catholic as the Thunderbirds (38) beat Ottawa-Glandorf (42) and Ottoville (48) in the boys portion of the Ottawa-Glandorf tri-meet. Tyler Verhoff (17:39) of O-G came in third. Ottoville (17:51) was paced by Drew Bendell, who finished fifth.
On the girls side, Ottoville (29) took first and second place behind Shayla Siefker (19:06) and Molly Maag, Ottoville (19:58) to beat Lima Central Catholic (40) and Ottawa-Glandorf (51) in girls' cross country. Emily Krumel (20:57) of LCC finished third and Erin Pfahler (21:17) of O-G was fourth.
(Boys Soccer):
TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 3, MILLER CITY 2: Josh Link and Tyler Sutton each scored a goal and had an assist for Temple Christian. Jeremy Young also cored for Temple Christian (11-1-2). Eric Rieman scored a goal for Miller City (11-3-2) while Mitch Wenzinger scored a goal and had an assist.
OTTOVILLE 2, FORT JENNINGS 0: Derek Miller and Andrew Koch scored a goal apiece in Ottoville's victory at Fort Jennings (2-12-2). Ottoville is 10-2-2.
(Girls Soccer):
OTTAWA-GLANDORF 3, SHAWNEE 1: Amy Inkrott, Breann Schroeder and Molly Laibe each scored for O-G (7-3-3) in the WBL win over visiting Shawnee (4-9-2). Jane Virdin scored for Shawnee.
KALIDA 3, CONTINENTAL 1: Kara Kaufman scored twice for Kalida while Nicole Kaufman added another goal. Brooke Tegenkamp scored for Continental.
