Lincolnview golf team remains perfect

BLUFFTON - The Lincolnview golf team traveled to Bluffton Golf Course Tuesday for a four team NWC match. The Lancers emerged the winner with a team score of 174, Bluffton followed with a 181, Jefferson with a 193 and Ada with a 245.

Lincolnview's Pierce Wolters shared medalist honors with Buffton's Christian Koch, each with a score of 41. Also scoring well for Lincolnview was Taylor Hoehn (43), Drew Doner (44) and Caleb Girod (46). Austin Clarkson led Delphos Jefferson with a team low score of 43. The Lancers are now 4-0 in the NWC and 7-0 overall. Lincolnview will host Ottoville in a non- conference dual match Wednesday at The Woods Golf Course beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Van Wert claims triangular match with Parkway and Coldwater

ROCKFORD - Parkway Head Coach Mike Schumm welcomed Wally Grimm's Van Wert Cougars and Jack Meschner's Coldwater Cavaliers to Deerfield Golf Course for a triangular golf match.

Van Wert, behind Sophomore Blake Doidge and Senior Zack Leatherman, defeated Coldwater and Parkway.  Both players carded fine two over par 38's to lead the Cougars to a team score of 160.  Seniors Andrew Bashore and Eason Ladd contributed a pair of 42's to finish off the scoring.  Senior Brock Thatcher (44) and Sophomore Brandt Taylor (51) participated for the Cougars.

Mark Kaiser of Coldwater was the match medalist as he recorded two birdies and two bogey's for an even par round of 36. The senior led the Cavaliers to a team score of 179.  Scoring for the team was Alex Kramer (45), Nick Fisher (46), and Matt Kaiser (52).  Fisher eagled the long par 5, eighth hole to highlight his round.

Parkway's lead off man, Tyler Oliver, overcame a slow start to finish strong with two birdies on the last three holes to post a fine round of 40.  Chris Roth recorded a pair of birdies on his way to a 44.  Rounding out the Panthers scoring was Caleb Frank (48), Levon Archer (49), and Corey Decker (49).  Zack Strobel had a round of 52.

Van Wert (2-0) will host Elida on Thursday at the Willow Bend Country Club while Parkway (2-2) will travel to the Elks Golf Course in Celina to take on the Marion Local Flyers.  Coldwater, with the split, moves their overall record to 2-2.
