Kalida hosted Lincolnview in a non-league matchup on Thursday night at Kalida.  Kalida won 3-0.  Scores were 25-12, 25-9, 25-19.  Kalida improved to 3-0 on the season, while Lincolnview falls to 0-3.  Leading the Lady Cats were Ashley Remlinger's 11 kills and 2 aces.  Julia Fuerst added 7 kills and 4 block kills.  Jess Knueve had 6 kills and Amy Hamburg 4 kills.  Emily Turnwald dished out 11 assists and had 6 aces for the Lady Cats. For Lincolnview Stacy Giessler had 2 aces 9/9 serving, 3 kills.  Paige McClure 2 assists 31/31. The Kalida JV was also victorious in 3 games 25-13, 19-25, 25-12.

Kalida hosts the Pioneer Days Invitational on Saturday - playing Lima Perry at 9 - followed by Spencerville, and ending with Lima Bath.

Van Wert 159 Wapakoneta 180

The Van Wert Cougar golf team traveled to Wapakoneta to take on the Redskins in a Western Buckeye League contest.  Van Wert scalped the Skins enroute to a convincing 159-180 victory.

Senior Zack Leatherman revived his game as he recorded three birdies to take match medalist honors with a super round of two under par 34.  Leatherman made a 60 foot chip on hole number 6 for a birdie and tapped in a three footer on 7 for back to back birdies.  He capped off the day with a 15 footer on the long par 5 ninth for his round of 34. 

Seniors Andrew Bashore and Austin Doidge followed Leatherman with 39 and 42 respectively.  Bashore started the match with 4 consecutive bogies and found his stroke late in the match to finish at three over par.  Doidge launched three pars and a birdie in his round to finish with the third best score of the match. Sophomore Brandt Taylor capped off the scoring with a 44.

Leading the way for the Redskins with a pair of 44's was Landon Stahler and Justin Krebs.  Rounding out the scoring were another pair of identical scores, Kaleb Coil and Phil Gabel each tallied 46.

Van Wert remains undefeated in League play with a 6-0 record and 8-0 overall.  Wapakoneta drops to 1-3 in conference action and 1-5 overall.

Van Wert will be right back in action, along with Lincolnview, Crestview, Parkway, and Wayne Trace at the Antwert Invitational.  It will be held at the Pond-a-River golf course with the first tee time set for 8:00.
