*VW's youth baseball 'Don Bachman Tourney' underway: VAN WERT -- The third annual Don Bachman memorial youth baseball tournament is underway in Van Wert. The tourney started Friday night and resumes today and Sunday. This year's tournament includes teams from North Baltimore, Lima, Delphos, Perrysburg and Decatur, Ind., as well as Van Wert teams. Sponsors for this year's tournament include Lee Kinstle Chevrolet, Gibby's Photography, Van Wert Vision and Northwest Trophy. Those attending can also chow down on a chicken barbecue dinner from The "I Don't Care" Grille in Van Wert. The meal, which will be served from 11 a.m.to 4 p.m., features half a chicken, potato salad and baked beans, and sells for $7. Also on the concessions menu are creamed chicken, sloppy joe and hamburger sandwiches and a taco in a bag. Proceeds go to the Van Wert Youth Baseball program and tournament coffers. -----
*VW youth baseball update: VAN WERT – The Van Wert Vision Cubs finished a great season, going 18-2 and being crowned Inter-County League champs, as well as tournament runners-up, representing Van Wert Youth Baseball. Team members included: Carter Eikenbary, Spencer Teman, Ryan Rager, Coby Kelly, Coach McCracken, Noah Kazee, Jordan Chacon, Coach Heppeard, batboy Carson Smith, Coach Eikenbary, Justin Silance, Colin Smith, Coach Smith, Justice Tussing, Ryan McCracken, Garret Silance, Evan Williams and Coach Tussing.----- *VW Legion baseball update: On Tuesday night the Van Wert Legion played the Napoleon River Bandits at Napoleon but came up on the short end of the scoreboard. The final score was 15-2.
