*Van Wert Parks announcement VAN WERT - The Van Wert Parks and Recreation Department along with the Van Wert Youth Baseball would like to announce that the Pitch, Hit and Run contest has been canceled for this evening, Friday May 9 and has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 13. Baseball
Crestview resumed a postponed conference game with Columbus Grove Friday evening in Convoy. The Knights and Bulldogs picked up the contest in the fifth inning tied at two runs apiece. Grove pulled out the 6-2 victory thanks to grand slam by Nate Bogart in the top of the seventh with two out. The Knights out-hit the Bulldogs 9-4 and left nine runners on base. Crestview is now 12-6 on the season. Softball CONVOY - The Lady Knights of Crestview defeated Ayersville 5-0 Friday and with the win, moved to 20-0 on the regular season. Chelsey Lare (12-0) shut out Ayersville en route to the victory. Lare scattered three hits over the course of the game, while walking one and striking out eight Lady Pilot batters. Offensively, Lydia Etzler led the Lady Knights, going 2-3 with a triple and two RBI's in the game. Melissa Eickholt, Jessica Burger and Kelsey Nedderman also had hits during the game, as Crestview got a solo run in the second inning, two more in the third and another two in the fifth inning. The No. 1-ranked Lady Knights head into Division IV sectional tournament action in the coming week. ----- *Lincolnview
Softball
The Lady Lancers improved to 18-6 Friday evening with a 5-4 victory against Wayne Trace. Lincolnview overcame a 4-0 deficit to take the victory. With the loss Wayne Trace is now 8-13 on the season.
Baseball
The Lancers' game with Ottoville on Friday afternoon was canceled.

Track and Field
The Parkway boys and girls track teams both placed fourth at the Mercer County K of C Track Invitational on the invite's final day Friday evening.
Parkway's Individual placers: (Girls) Parkway's Alexis Bates took third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.68 while teammate Amanda On was fourth with a 13.72.
Marian Bevington took second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.46. The 4x100m relay team of Bevington, Ashley Stose, On and Bates took first with a time of 52.74.
The 4x200m relay team of On, Brittany Hesse, Stose and Tara Luth placed fourth with a time of 1:55.80. The 4x400m relay team was also fourth. Hesse, Kelsey Bates, Luth and Alexis Bates ran a time of 4:31.22. (Boys) Parkway's Josh Fisher won the 100m dash with a time of 11.29 as well as the 200m dash with a time of 23.12.
Aron Osborne placed second in the 400m dash with a time of 53.40.
The 4x100m team of Fisher, Reese Boroff, Marcas Heitkamp and Shawn Miller took first with a time of 46.33. The 4x200m team of Heitkamp, Osborne, Boroff and Miller took fourth with a time of 1:39.00.
