Northwest Ohio Aquatic League Swim Meet

Van Wert at Kenton

The Van Wert YMCA Marlins recently traveled to Kenton, where they took home a 522-481 win over the Kenton YMCA Stingrays.  The older age groups dominated their portion of the meet with many first places.  The boys' 11-12, 13-14 and 15+ groups and the girls' 15-18 captured 28 first places out of a possible 32.  Individual event winners included Landrie Koontz, Sam Easley, Alicia Buettner, Hannah Stemen, Karlyn Koontz, Eric Easley, Joshua Overholt, Evan Stant, Trey Stemen, Kayla Miller, Danielle Miller, Aaron Bagley, and Will Burchfield.  All these individuals were also on winning relay teams; other members of these relays included Grace Hammons, Paige Lucas, Mitchell Mengerink, Thad Davis, Taylor Robenalt, Nan Johnson, Katlyn Smelser, Dulton Moore, Shane Robenalt and Nick Kallas.

*VW Legion baseball update:

The VW legion baseball team played the Indiana Ducks in Heritage, In.  The first game VW lost 9-8.  The starting pitcher was Nathan Cheney who pitched 3 innings.  Mike Evans pitched 2 innings.  Damon Joseph pitched 1 inning and took the loss.  Levon Archer pitched the last inning.
