BOYS GOLF:

Van Wert Cougars open the golf season at Defiance Invitational.

Van Wert traveled to Auglaise Golf Course on Monday morning to participate in the sixteen team Defiance Invitational.

The Cougars were able to place sixth with a team score of 326. 

Sophomore Blake Doidge was the low scorer for the Cougars as he shot a three over par 75.  His score placed him eighth out of 80 golfers.

Senior Brock Thatcher was second scorer for the team as he shot an 82.

Fellow seniors Andrew Bayshore and Austin Doidge rounded out the scoring with 83 and 86 respectively.

Senior Zack Leatherman contributed an 87.

The Bryan Golden Bears were the team champion with a score of 295.  They were followed by Anthony Wayne (300) and Wauseon (314).

Bryan was led by co-match medalist Zack Davenport and Wauseon was led by their co-match medalist Kaleb Figy as each shot a super round of

One under par 71.

Van Wert will travel to Sycamore Springs on Tuesday to play in the Liberty Benton Invitational.

Lincolnview announces all-sport's passes:

MIDDLE POINT - The Lincolnview Athletic Department has announced that all-sports passes are available in the High School office beginning Monday, August 11th. The passes are good for all sporting events for students and all events except Varsity boy's basketball for the adult passes. The prices for the passes are:  $50.00 for students, $50.00 for Adults or $70.00 a couple.
