Scores were 25-4, 25-8, 25-9.  Leading the Ladycats were Ashley Remlinger's 10 kills and 4 aces.  Jess Knueve added 7 kills and 7 aces.  Julia Fuerst had 4 kill, Amy Hamburg had 2 kills and 4 aces.  Amy VonderEmbse had 2 kills dished out 12 assists, Emily Turnwald had 6 assist and a pair of aces, Trisha Horstman had 4 kills and 5 assists, and Kasie Bellmann had 5 assists. Darcy Langhals also had 4 aces for the Ladycats. The Kalida JV won 25-8, 25-5.  Kalida hosts Ayersville at Kalida on Thursday.

With the win Crestview improves to 7-1 on the year and 1-0 in the NWC. The Lady Lancers are 1-3 and 0-1 in the NWC. The Knights are back at it on Thursday evening when they travel to Paulding to face the Panthers in yet another NWC showdown. The Lancers will also be in conference action on Thursday. They will host the Delphos Jefferson Wildcats in the new Lincolnview High School gym. In the junior varsity match, Crestview defeated Lincolnview 25-10, 25-14. The Lady Knights are now 1-0 in conference play, while the Lady Lancers are 0-1.

Jr. High Cross Country

CONVOY -- The Van Wert Middle School cross country teams had dominating performances Tuesday evening at the Crestview Junior High Invitational, taking home both boys' and girls' team trophies, as well as individual honors. Van Wert girls had 35 points, to second-place Lincolnview's 51. Other finishers were Celina, 64 points; Defiance, 110 points; and Wayne Trace, 111 points. Seventh-grader Andrea Foster led the way for the Cougar girls, winning her second race of the year in a time of 13:39 a season-best performance. Emily Linder of Wayne Trace took runner-up honors with a time of 13:50. Other top finishers for Van Wert were Jacey Eikenbary, third (13:56); Leah Brubaker, 10th (14:44); Kelsey Wagner, 12th (14:52); and Taylor Whitcraft, 16th (15:08). Other finishers were Claire Butler (20th in 15:36), Karlyn Koontz (21st in 15:37), and Shelby East (37th in 18:39).

In the boys race, Van Wert was first with 33 points, while second-place Crestview had 62 points. Other team scores are as follows: Lincolnview, 85 points; Celina, 89 points; Defiance, 112 points; and Wayne Trace, 161 points. VWMS runner Treig Pierce was the first runner to cross the finish line in the boys' race. His time of 11:26 was also a season best. Abel Flores of Defiance was second in a time of 11:32, while Austin Treesh of Lincolnview finished in third place in 12:06 and Crestview's Joel Genter was fourth in 12:29. Also for Van Wert, Kase Schalois (fifth in 12:39); Spencer Prichard (sixth in 12:48), Jacob Boroff (eighth in 12:58) and Jacob Hoverman (13th in 13:23) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars. Other finishers included Garrett Freemen (14th in 13:40), Layne Smith (15th in 13:42), Kavon Pierce (19th in 13:49), Brady Woodruff (24th in 14:03), Noah Edwards (25th in 14:05), Christian Dunn (28th in 14:11), Austin Taylor (36th in 14:37) and Jon Lisa (38th in 14:59). "Both teams were focused and competitive tonight," said VWMS Coach Kylee Moody. "This is exactly the determination that we are going to need Thursday when we face off with Shawnee."
