Van Wert 155 Ottawa-Glandorf 183

The Van Wert golf team traveled to Titan territory to take on the Ottawa Glandorf linksters at the Pike Run Golf Course. Van Wert won the Western Buckeye League match by a convincing 155-183 score. Senior Zack Leatherman 'remembered' how to make birdies as he recorded four of them enroute to Match Medalist honors with a fine round of 35.  His final birdie of the day came on the ninth hole as he holed his chip from off the green. Fellow Seniors, Brock Thatcher and Austin Doidge, tied with each other as they shot 39's for runnerup medalist honors.  Continuing the senior theme, Andrew Bashore completed the Cougar scoring with a 42.  A pair of Sophomores, Blake Doidge and Brandt Taylor rounded out Van Wert's effort with 43 and 45 respectively. Ottawa Glandorf was led by Micheal Hanneman as he shot a 44.  Finishing out the Titan scoring with a pair of 46's was Jacob Hermiller and Matt Hermiller.  Kevin Horstman shot a 47 to come up with the team score. With the victory, Van Wert remains atop the league standings with a 7-0 mark and 9-0 overall.  Ottawa Glandorf slips to 2-5 in both league and overall matches. Van Wert will be in action this Thursday at the Willow Bend Golf Course to take on the Indians of Lima Shawnee.  The Indians were also undefeated going into tonights action but a half a game behind the Cougars.  The entered their match at 5-0 in the league.

The Knights won the opening game 25-21, before dropping Game two 17-25 and Game three 16-25.
Marian Bevington led the way for Parkway, as she recorded 21 kills, six blocks and five solo blocks. Tara Luth added 16 kills and 27 digs. Emily Crowell added 28 digs and seven kills. Katlyn Smith and Morgan

Cron did most of the setting for the offense, as Smith had 30 assists and Cron 25. Leading the way for the Knights was Kelsey Nedderman who had 23 kills on the evening and led the team in blocks. Carly Lichtensteiger and Lydia Etzler each had 10 kills while Taylor Springer added six. Springer (21) and Danica Hicks (24) led the team in assists. With the win the Knights are now 6-1 on the season. Crestview opens league play on Tuesday when they host Lincolnview. Parkway will face Defiance, also on Tuesday.
