VW ACME baseball team advances |

CELINA -- The Van Wert Cougars ACME baseball team stayed alive in the Celina district tourney this past weekend with a 2-0 victory over the Marion Local Flyers in an elimination game. The win advances the Cougars (13-10) to a showdown tonight with Wapakoneta at Celina's Montgomery Field at 7:00 p.m. The winner of that showdown will face Coldwater (and need to defeat them twice) Tuesday evening to earn a spot in the state tournament. Brock Thatcher threw the two-hit, complete game shutout to claim the "W" for the Cougars.
