VAN WERT - The high school football season moves to week number two Friday night with a bevy of games. Last week, I recorded an opening record of 5-1 in my weekly picks. The VW-Area Football Teams include: Parkway, Van Wert, Crestview, Delphos Jefferson, Delphos St. John's, Antwerp, Paulding and Wayne Trace (Lincolnview does not field a football team). Below is last week's record, this week's schedule, followed by Steamboat's Picks for week number two.
VAN WERT - The 2008 Varsity Football Season opened Friday night, as seven of the eight VW-Area Teams were in action (Delphos St. John's hosts LCC tonight). In games concerning area teams: Delphos Jefferson routed Perry 74-6; Parkway handled Crestview 33-14; Paulding ran away from Wayne Trace 56-14; Van Wert lost a tough one to Bryan 13-10; and Antwerp slipped past Edon 21-13.
VAN WERT -- The Van Wert area kicks-off another football season this weekend, with five games on tap for Friday and one game being played on Saturday.
