CONVOY -- The Crestview Knights baseball team held its annual year-end awards banquet, recently. Dave Springer awarded Briggs Orsbon the Mason Springer Memorial Award and Tony Burger was awarded the Jeff 'Squirt' Royer Memorial Award by Linda Royer, Vickie Royer, Mike Wortman and Larry Royer.
VAN WERT - The Van Wert Legion rebounded from its double-header setback Sunday by blasting the St. Marys Legion 10-5 on Monday evening. With the win Van Wert improves to 2-4 on the season. Brent Kremer, Alan Leatherman, Kyle Klinker, Aaron Schuerman (3-3, triple), Josh Miller (double), and Karlin Dunlap (double), all led the locals at the plate. Josh Miller, Damon Joseph, and Craig Carder all saw action on the mound for VW. Van Wert will be back in action on Friday evening when it takes on Napoleon at VW's Smiley Park Field.
VAN WERT -- Saturday afternoon the VW Legion baseball team hosted Troy Legion in a DH and unfortunately for the locals, they fell in both contests, 10-4 and 6-5. Losing Pitcher in game one was Brent Kreamer, who only lasted two innings. Mike Evans pitched the last five innings. In game two, Tyler Putman pitched the first six innings, and then Nathan Cheney pitched the seventh inning and absorbed the setback.
WOOSTER - Crestview Alumnus Mark Miller capped his record-setting season as The College of Wooster's relief specialist by being named a third-team All-American by D3baseball.com.
