CONVOY - The Crestview Knights won for the 11th time against no defeats this summer with a solid 13-3 victory over visiting VW Monday evening. The Knights blew open a close game with a seven-run fifth inning to seal the deal. Nick Ulrey collected the "W" for Crestview, going the distance (six innings), throwing a five-hit, two-run masterpiece. Ulrey recorded four strikeouts. Ian Clay led the Knights at the plate with a double and three RBIs. For the Cougars, Kyle Thatcher absorbed the setback, allowing four runs (one earned), on four hits, while recording six strikeouts and walking three. Brock Bell led VW at the plate with a two-run homerun.
AKRON - The Lima Warriors moved their record to 4-0 Saturday with a 37-7 victory over host Akron late Saturday night. Chris Brooks had four sacks for Lima and Tommy Santos added two more while Pierre Jackson had a sack and an interception. Glenn White set a new team record with a 102-yard interception return for a touchdown. Jeremy Harnishfeger scored a pair of TDs and rushed for 99 yards. Justin Henderson passed and ran for a score. The Warriors will take on Wayne County on Saturday at Lima Stadium.
OTTOVILLE -- Congrats to the Hogg Creek Soccer League Traveling Team or the HCSL RAZORS. This weekend they attended their first tournament in the Cleveland area and came away as the 2008 George Djisheff Memorial Tournament U-19 Runner-ups. Coached by Mustaq Ahmed (Assistant Coach for Women's Soccer at Bluffton University) the Razors posted an overall 1-1-2 record. The actual result's of each game is listed below.
CELINA -- The Crestview ACME baseball team went 3-0 over the weekend, defeating Celina, St. Marys, and Van Wert to claim the tournament held in Celina. The three wins improve the Knights to 10-0 on the season.
