CONTINENTAL — Erin Weisenburger’s 15 points paced Continental to a 46-32 nonleague girls basketball win over Paulding on Saturday. Katelyn Howard scored 10 for Continental (9-7) and Jennifer Donaldson added 9 points. Shelby Erford scored 13 points and Ashley Myers added 8 points.

Friday’s winter snowstorm put a heavy dent into Saturday’s sports schedule. Most of the area’s basketball games were postponed on Saturday. The games that have re-scheduled have the new dates listed.
Paulding 49, Lincolnview 41 (OT)
The Paulding Panthers defeated the Lincolnview Lancers 49-41 in overtime Friday in a boy’s basketball NWC contest. Lincolnview probably played one of their better games of the season, but unfortunately for Lancer fans, it seems that victory eludes this team.

The Van Wert Lady Cougars fell to non-conference foe LCC Tuesday evening by a 45-21 count in girl’s basketball action. Poor offensive production once again led to the Lady Cougars’ demise, as LCC bolted to first half leads of 14-7 and 26-10.

Crestview 53, Hicksville 20
Maddie Preston led three Crestview scorers in double figures as the locals easily handled the Lady Aces from Hicksille 53-20 in non-league girl’s basketball action on Saturday.
Defiance 59, Van Wert 51
The Van Wert Cougars lost a tough one Friday night to their counterparts from Defiance, 59-51 in WBL boy’s basketball action in the Cougars’ Den.
Van Wert 54, Defiance 40
The Van Wert Lady Cougars traveled to Defiance Thursday night and came way with a come-from-behind, 54-40 win over the host Bulldogs in WBL girl’s basketball action.

Van Wert boy’s team, Lady Cougars sink Defiance
Van Wert's girls and boys swim teams visited Defiance at the Defiance YMCA pool on Tuesday evening. Both teams won as the Cougar girls beat the Bulldogs 120-63 and the boys garnered a 108-73 victory.
The Crestview Lady Knights finally got their offense untracked in the second half and pulled away from the Van Wert Lady Cougars to win the non-league girl’s basketball tilt 48-25 Monday evening in Convoy.
