The Miami Trace Panthers are striving in practice this week as they prepare to host a familiar old rival, the Circleville Tigers, in the season-opener Friday night on what forecasters are calling for a hot afternoon, reminicsent of last year’s conditions.

Miami Trace led in the ball game last year, 14-7 at the half.

The Tigers had the upper hand in the second half last year, outscoring the Panthers 27-13 to post the final margin, 34-27.

Miami Trace tennis shuts out East Clinton PDF Print E-mail

LEES CREEK — Miami Trace tennis bounced back from a loss at London on Tuesday afternoon as they traveled to East Clinton High School and won a non-league match with the Astros, five courts to zero.

Miami Trace dominated the match without losing a single game through all three singles courts and the first doubles court.

Sydney Wilson won at first singles, 6-0, 6-0 over Amber Boris.

Blue Lion golf team opens 2008 season with win over East Clinton PDF Print E-mail

The Washington Blue Lion golf team began the 2008 season on a winning note Tuesday, defeating East Clinton at Snow Hill Country Club, 181 to 205.

For the Blue Lions, Jordy Young was medalist with a 43.

Connor Johnson shot a nine-hole score of 44 and Seth Baker shot a 45.

Students invited to try out for Blue Lion cross country teams PDF Print E-mail

Any Washington Middle School or Washington High School students interested in running cross country for the Blue lions are invited to practice any morning this week at 7 a.m. at the high school field house.

Runners are to meet each day next week at 3 p.m.

This information was provided by middle school coach Tom Renick.
