FINDLAY – The Wayne Trace Raiders are now one step away from the state tournament, as they upended GMC-rival Ayersville by a 61-60 count in the Division IV boy’s basketball regional semi-finals at Findlay Wednesday night. The win avenges a 58-55 setback to the Pilots in the season battle. Dane Treece hit a 14-foot jumper with six seconds remaining to lift the Raiders to the victory.
PAYNE -- The Payne Ball Association will be sponsoring a fast-pitch softball clinic on March 28, 29 and 30. The featured clinic instructor will be Mr. Bob Pelle, nationally and internationally known for his softball instruction. Mr. Pelle has worked with over 400 collegiate players as well as former United States Olympic team members. Sessions will include a special coaches/parent session along with sessions for pitching and all-skills. Discounted pre-registration fees are available if paid by March 20. FINDLAY -- The Wayne Trace vs Ayersville Division IV Regional Semi-Final game scheduled for BGSU tonight (second game) has been cancelled due to weather conditions.
The game will be played Wednesday night @ 7:00 p.m. at Findlay High School. BGSU is not available (due to hosting the Division III Regional Boy's tournament).
HAVILAND -- The Wayne Trace Athletic Department will be selling tickets for Tuesday’s regional semi-final boys basketball game from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday. This is in addition to the previously announced times.
PAYNE -- The final two sign up dates for the Payne Ball Association will be held on Wednesday, March 5, and Saturday, March 8, 2008. Sign up times will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on March 5 and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on March 8. Both signup times will be held at the Payne Elementary Cafeteria.
