VAN WERT -- The annual Western Buckeye League vs. Midwest

Athletic Conference/Northwest Conference All-Star football

game will once again be held at VW's Eggress Stadium. The

game will take place this coming Friday, June 13 with kick-off

at 7:30 p.m. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. All tickets are $5.

Rosters and coaching staffs for the game are listed below.

First Annual Van Wert 10K Run results

VAN WERT -- The First Annual Van Wert 10K Run was held on Saturday, June 7, at Smiley Park. Despite the storm of Friday evening that brought down large trees and limbs, the route was clear and 59 runners participated. The majority of runners were from Van Wert County, but Lima, Napoleon, Findlay, Fostoria, Columbus, Rockford, Payne, Elida, Russia, Bryan, Antwerp and Wauseon were also represented. Runners came from Fort Wayne and Huntinton, IN. There were also athletes from Atlanta, GA and Lawrence, PA.

Lima Warriors roll over Mount Carmel 48-3, now 2-0 on season

LIMA -- The Lima Warriors improved to 2-0 on the season with a 48-3 thumping of Mount Carmel. Warriors' quarterback Justin Henderson recorded another career night, passing for 191-yards and three touchdowns. Kaene Runion, Joe Butcher, and Jeremy Bott were on the receiving end of those TD passes. Butcher also returned a punt 60-yards for another six points. Also, Andrew Cleckley and Myron Gregory each rushed for a score, while Jeremy Harnishfeger contibuted with 47-rushing yards on just six carries. The Warriors' defense also got in on the scoring action, as Wayne Legrant picked-off a pass and returned it 35-yards for the TD. Also on defense, Tommy Santos registered six tackles.
