VAN WERT - Below are all the sport's announcements from the area. ----- Crestview Knight Pride Club announces meeting: CONVOY -- The August meeting of the Crestview Knight Pride Club will be held Monday, August 11, in the Crestview High School study hall. The meeting will start immediately following the annual Meet the Team gathering, which should end at approximately 8:30 p.m. All Crestview parents and fans are encouraged to attend. ----- *VW YWCA offering volleyball leagues: VAN WERT -- The YWCA of Van Wert County is currently taking sign-ups for our fall volleyball leagues. Women's Rec Volleyball will be Monday Evenings from September 15 through December 15, 2008. Co-ed Power League will be Thursday Evenings from September 18 through December 18, 2008. Registration with deposit due by September 5, 2008. Call the YWCA of Van Wert County at 419-238-6639 or visit us at 408 E. Main St. in Van Wert. ----- *VW YWCA seeking lifeguards: VAN WERT -- The YWCA of Van Wert County is looking for lifeguards for after school and some evenings. Please apply at 408 E. Main St. ----- *VW Parks youth flag football registration: VAN WERT -- The Van Wert Parks Department would like to remind local residents to register for Flag Football before it's too late! Registration deadline is Friday, August 8, and no registrations will be taken after Tuesday, August 12. There are two age groups: 6-8 and 9-11 year olds. Both age groups are coed. To register, go online to www.active.com and enter "Flag Football 45891" into the search at the top of the page. There is also a link at www.vanwert.org to register. Those unable to register online can stop by the city parks department's Jubilee Park office at 137 Gleason Ave. to register in person.
