Lima Warriors crush Akron, 37-7 PDF Print E-mail

AKRON - The Lima Warriors moved their record to 4-0 Saturday with a 37-7 victory over host Akron late Saturday night. Chris Brooks had four sacks for Lima and Tommy Santos added two more while Pierre Jackson had a sack and an interception. Glenn White set a new team record with a 102-yard interception return for a touchdown. Jeremy Harnishfeger scored a pair of TDs and rushed for 99 yards. Justin Henderson passed and ran for a score. The Warriors will take on Wayne County on Saturday at Lima Stadium.

OTTOVILLE -- Congrats to the Hogg Creek Soccer League Traveling Team or the HCSL RAZORS.  This weekend they attended their first tournament in the Cleveland area and came away as the 2008 George Djisheff Memorial Tournament U-19 Runner-ups.  Coached by Mustaq Ahmed (Assistant Coach for Women's Soccer at Bluffton University) the Razors posted an overall 1-1-2 record.  The actual result's of each game is listed below.

Crestview ACME baseball team now 10-0 PDF Print E-mail

CELINA -- The Crestview ACME baseball team went 3-0 over the weekend, defeating Celina, St. Marys, and Van Wert to claim the tournament held in Celina. The three wins improve the Knights to 10-0 on the season.

VW youth wins soccer shoot out PDF Print E-mail

VAN WERT -- Jon Lisa, an eighth grade student at Van Wert Middle School, recently qualified, competed, and won the Elks District Soccer Shoot Out in Lima. He will now have the opportunity to compete in the Elks State Soccer Shoot Out in Coshocton over the weekend of July 26-27.

VW Legion falls to Lima, 8-0 PDF Print E-mail

LIMA -- The Van Wert Legion team fell 8-0 to the Lima Legion Wednesday evening in Lima. Van Wert's Kyle Klinker picked up the loss while Lima's Travis Kottenbrock earned the victory. Van Wert collected six hits off of Lima while Lima scored its eight runs on eight hits. Stats and linescore to be posted later today.

LIMA -- Coach Parkins is available to the media, just call (419) 371-9976 to set up an interview with him. Lima is outscoring its opponents 135-9 through three games.  Akron is coming off a 42-14 loss on the road against the Lakawanna (NY) Dynasty.  Last season, the Warriors were 2-0 against the Jagz.  Winning both the regular season and playoff matchups at Lima Stadium.  Lima is 3-0 and 2-0 in division play, Akron is 2-1 overall and in division play. The game is being played at Akron St. Vincent/St. Mary's High School in Akron.  No word on if Mr. James will be in attendance this week or not.    Kickoff is slated for 7:05 P.M.  the game will be available via online broadcast at the teams website (www.limawarriors.com) starting at 6:30pm with the pregame show.  Aaron Matthews serves as the play by play voice while Devon Jones will provide the color commentary.
