MINSTER — The Minster girls notched their 14th win of the season in volleyball action, beating Spencerville in non-league play Monday 21-25, 25-18, 25-9, 25-10.

Minster is now 14-6.

Erica Fullenkamp had 14 kills, 27 assists and five blocks for Minster. Sarah Purpus added 13 kills and six ace serves and Kara Monnin had 13 digs.

Lady Cavs win 14th

The Lehman volleyball closed the regular season with some good competition, something they aren’t likely to see in the early rounds of the D-IV sectonal tournament.

The Lady Cavaliers rose to the occasion, winning 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18 over Parkway.

Sarah Lynch, Jessica Thobe, Annie Fortkamp and Morgan Schmitmeyer combined for 52 kills in the match.

“It was a good way to finish the regular season,” Lehman coach Greg Snipes said. “Our offense was really strong tonight and Marlee (Wion) did a great job mixing things up.”

Lynch had 13 kills and 15 digs, while Thobe had 15 kills and 14 digs. Fortkamp pounded 15 kills, while Schmitmeyer added nine kills and three blocks.

Wion dished out 50 assists. Jenni Paulus led the defense with 16 digs and Abby Dobras added 11 digs.

Lehman, 14-8, is scheduled to open against Jefferson in Sidney D-IV action at 3:30 p.m. But, the Jefferson coach did not vote for the sectional seeding or show up at Sunday’s mandatory meeting, so it is unclear whether they will play Saturday.

Anna wins in county

Anna defeated Russia in a county game Monday 25-16, 25-10, 25-19.

For Anna, Laura Gehret finished with 16 kills and Carrie Watkins seven. Kelsie Zumberger had 33 assists and Maria Meyer 12 digs.

For Russia, Roni Homan had 11 kills and 17 digs, and Kristin Drees had 12 assists and two aces.

Anna is 8-3 in the county and 14-7 overall. Russia is 4-7 and 9-12.

Anna won the junior varsity game 25-17, 25-17.

Loramie wins

Fort Loramie took care of St. Marys in three, 25-14, 25-15, 25-12 in non-league action.

The Lady Redskins were led by Bethany Hoelscher with 12 kills. Clair Ruhenkamp added seven and Andrea Holthaus six, and Hillary Ferguson had 10 digs.

Loramie is now 11-7.

Loramie won the JV game 25-18, 25-20.

Riverside wins

in NWCC

Riverside will play for the Northwest Central Conference championship on Thursday at Fairbanks after beating Ridgemont 25-12, 25-9, 25-12 Monday.

The win puts Riverside at 6-0 in the NWCC and 15-6 overall.

Taylor Leiss had six aces and six kills for the lady Pirates, Victoria Thompson had 10 kills and five blocks, and Amelia Carter had nine kills.

Leiss had 12 service points and Thompson and Hurley nine each.

Riverside won the JV game 25-20, 25-21.

Houston tops

Bradford

Houston beat Bradford in four games in non-league play, 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 25-16.

Kimmie Replogle had 14 kills and Hunter Braun 24 assists.

Houston won the JV game 25-12, 25-17.

New Knoxville wins

New Knoxville needed just three games to beat Lincolnview in non-league play 25-17, 25-13, 25-8.

Morgan Reineke had 13 kills, eight digs, five blocks and three aces to lead the Lady Rangers. Casey Horstman added 20 assists and both Jena Braden and Horstman had two aces.

Knoxville won the JV game 25-9, 27-29, 25-11.
