Washington, Trace boys at SCOL meet PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 16 May 2008

LONDON — In contrast to the championship on the girl’s side, the boy’s South Central Ohio League track and field championship concluded Thursday night in a pouring rain at London High School with little or no suspense as to who the winner would be.

Clinton-Massie had the meet locked up so that even a disqualification in the 4 x 400-meter relay (in which they placed first) had no bearing on the outcome as the Falcons soared to the 2008 championship.

Massie totaled 145 points to 127 for the host London Red Raiders.

Hillsboro placed third with 116 points and Miami Trace was fourth with 101 points.

The Washington Blue Lions were fifth with 85 points, followed by Madison Plains with 56 points and McClain with 20.

Miami Trace had three first place finishes in the meet.

Chris Wehner followed his win in the discus on Tuesday by winning the SCOL shot put Thursday with a best throw of 50’ 5 1/2”.

Justin Phillips won the high jump for the Panthers at 6’ 0”.

Washington’s Tyler Kimmet won the 3200-meter run in a time of 10:38.77.
