I'ts over .... WHS 51, KHS 42.

An explosive start to the 4th quarter lifted Wlmington to a win over Kings Friday night, a victory that gives the Hurricane no less than a share of the FAVC Cardinal Division championship.

Wilmington posts a 51-42 win over Kings.

Jordan Berlin had 9 points in the 4th despite having just 2 in the first 3 quarters. Berlin, though not an offensive factor early, was a monster on defense throughout the entire game.

Rollins finished with 20, Williams 10 and Berlin 11. Seeger had 6, 4 coming in the 4th. He had some big moments, hitting free throws.

Gayhart finished with 16 and Harris had 13, 8 of those coming in the 4th.

Wilmington is 14-4 and 8-1 in the divison. Kings is 11-7 overall, 7-2 in the Cardinal.

Cane has Miami Trace Tuesday and Walnut Hills next Friday.

At the half

Wilmington 25, Kings 17 at the half. Gayhardt with 12 of the Knights points. Rollins has 12 for the Cane. Seeger with 3 fouls, Berlin and Rollins with 2 each. Byrd and Gayhart 2 fouls for the Knights.

Cane up after one

WIlmingotn led 10-6 after one. Gayhart hot for Kings. Seeger and Byrd with 2 1st quarter fouls each.

Knights prevail in JV game

Taking a look at who's here ... the Clinton COunty sports hall of fame is well represented. Butch Hooper, Gary Rinehart, Mike Wallace, Roger Reveal, Joe Fife are the ones I can see. Might be more but this is a big game in the area and a lot folks are making the trip to watch this one. The place is packed. Can't wait for it to start.

JV final was Kings 42, Wilmington 34.

Following senior night ceremonies, the varsity game will start. Probably looking at 7:50 pm varsity tip.

Start the third, Knights still up

Kings leads 30-25 at the end o the third quarter of the JV game. Running a bit behind now. One of the JV officials is out of the game, not sure why, so 2 of the varsity guys dressed quickly and are doing the game now.

At halftime of the JV game, it's Kings on top

Kings leads Wilmington, 19-16, at intermission of the JV game. Things going right on time ... so far.

Kings 33, Wilmington 29 in freshman game

The JV game is underway, on time. However, it's parents night at Kings, so we might be a bit delayed in starting the varsity contest. I'll keep you posted.

Getting ready

We're getting to the Wilmington-Kings game a little earlier than usual, like 4:30 or so. It was crowded last year and this year I expect it to be even worse.
