The London Red Raiders Wrestling Team opened it's dual season with 2 wins on Thursday Dec. 14th at Jonathon Alder High School. The London grapplers first faced Bishop Watterson High School. Adam Eades, wrestling at 189, drew the first match of the year, and the first win of the year with a pin in 4:30. Raymont Napper (215) also pinned his man, and was followed by Sean Kelly (285) by forfeit, and a pin by Mike Morris(112) to put London up 24-0. Watterson then took the
next 5 weight classes, and took a 30-24 lead, with 4 weights to go. Seth Nelson (145) and Tony Morris (152) each garnered a pin to give London a 36-30 lead with 2 classes left. Jeremiah Jones (160) and Austin Bauer (171) each won a decision to give London a 43-27
final advantage, which included a double forfeit.

London then faced the host Pioneers. Each team has open classes that they must forfeit, with Alder giving away the most. Kelly (285), Tony Morris (145), Seth Nelson (152), Eades (189) and Napper (215) each received wins by forfeit for London. JA's Ben Robinson (103) also received 6 team points for a forfeit. In the contested matches London's winners were: Mike Morris over Andy Farrand 16-12 at 112 lbs,and Jones
(160) pinned Bo Berry in 3:29. Pioneer winners were: Steven Klesimon (119) 13-9 over James Johnson, Vince Palmer (125) 16-4 over Ronnie Colvin, Sean Fleming (135) pinned Pablo Feltz in 5:54, and Brad Purdum (171) pinned Bauer in :29. The final score was 39-25,London.

I don't want to sound like a troll or something like that but I want to briefly go off on a tangent. Teays Valley recently passed a levy that will create a second high school. Is there plans for the SCOL to expand and would they add the new high school?

London opens League schedule with Clinton Massie at Hillsboro. What other league meets are that night?

There was also a nice article about Zach Nelson in yesterdays (12-27-06) Columbus Dispatch.

London shuts out McClain.  Osterloh was out for the night.  You gotta feel for the Coach and the kids.  Only 2 kids to wrestle Varsity tonight, and only about 4 JR HIgh kids, since there were 4 out for various reasons.
I know London started it's own youth club about 4 years ago, and now there are 30 middle schoolers, including 19 8th graders.  When my son wrestled there 4 years ago there were about 10 kids.  The youth club has over 40 kids I think.
The McClain coach seemed like a nice guy when I met him tonight, hope he can turn things around!
