The London Red Raiders Wrestling Team opened it's dual season with 2 wins on Thursday Dec. 14th at Jonathon Alder High School. The London grapplers first faced Bishop Watterson High School. Adam Eades, wrestling at 189, drew the first match of the year, and the first win of the year with a pin in 4:30. Raymont Napper (215) also pinned his man, and was followed by Sean Kelly (285) by forfeit, and a pin by Mike Morris(112) to put London up 24-0. Watterson then took the next 5 weight classes, and took a 30-24 lead, with 4 weights to go. Seth Nelson (145) and Tony Morris (152) each garnered a pin to give London a 36-30 lead with 2 classes left. Jeremiah Jones (160) and Austin Bauer (171) each won a decision to give London a 43-27 final advantage, which included a double forfeit.
London then faced the host Pioneers. Each team has open classes that they must forfeit, with Alder giving away the most. Kelly (285), Tony Morris (145), Seth Nelson (152), Eades (189) and Napper (215) each received wins by forfeit for London. JA's Ben Robinson (103) also received 6 team points for a forfeit. In the contested matches London's winners were: Mike Morris over Andy Farrand 16-12 at 112 lbs,and Jones (160) pinned Bo Berry in 3:29. Pioneer winners were: Steven Klesimon (119) 13-9 over James Johnson, Vince Palmer (125) 16-4 over Ronnie Colvin, Sean Fleming (135) pinned Pablo Feltz in 5:54, and Brad Purdum (171) pinned Bauer in :29. The final score was 39-25,London.
The Red Red Raiders travel to Northeastern on December20th for a tri-match that includes Kenton Ridge. Wrestling starts at 6PM.
