Since it's waaaaaaaaaaay to cold and nasty to play baseball, let's talk about the future basketball players of the SHL-SBC.

Chadwell is gone, Felder is gone, Bennington, Barnett, Cox, Greer and many others lost to graduation. Who is stepping up to take their place?

List your top 10 best players for the '07-'08 season.

This is a bit tougher than I thought, but here goes in alphabetical order.

Avery, Batavia......Nice player on a mediocre team.
Chadwell, Gtown..Very good player, can he score with the other teams best defender on him.
Cunningham, WB..Big and can shoot, gonna create tough matchups.
Greene, Fay.........Big, inside outside threat.
Hawk, Lynch........Monster inside.
Price, WU............Overshadowed last year, look for him to have a break out season.
Quinlan, Man........Big, decent shooter and rebounder.
Sparks, NA..........Big, still growing.
Utter, Felicity......Scrappy, physical, runs the floor.
Williams, WO.......Big and strong, decent shooter.

Look for Cunningham to be POY in big school SBC, Avery in the small school.
Look for big men Hawk and Greene to lead the way in their divisions in the SHL.

is cunningham from western brown injured or is he just having a hard time scoring?  i didn't see his name in the last box score i saw.

speaking of box scores is there somewhere to find sbc or shl box scores on a regular basis?  without the shl and sbc website it is hard to keep up with what is going on.  i am surprised c103 doesn't have some sort of web site.

He isn't getting playing time because of him not seeing eye to eye with the coach from what I understand.  He is a very good player that would only help Western, so I don't know.

As far as stats, the best thing I can tell you is the Cincinnati Enquirer high school preps page.  It will give SBC schools.  Let me know if you find a SHL stats page.

I believe that another player to watch is Messinger from CNE.  With two other starters hurt, Justin has really filled in the gap.  Last game against Blanchester he scored 29 and has scored double figures in several games.  Without a loss they may be the team to beat in the SBC.

If you check out the Enquirer web site (http://preps.cincinnati.com/playerStats.aspx?pid=33498&b=1&y=2007&sp=100) you can get the stats of specfic players.  You can see that Justin Messinger is listed as a 6'-1" Junior.  With CNE having several good young players I'm sure that they will be a force to contend with for a few years.
