WILLIAMSBURG — The East Clinton High School volleyball team picked up a big five-game tie breaker win over Williamsburg on Thursday in Southern Buckeye Conference action.
Williamsburg is the defending SBC champion. WHS won the first game 25-10 and the second 25-21. East Clinton came back to win the third 28-26, fourth 25-10 and the tie-breaker 17-15. The win puts EC at 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in the league. “I am so proud of these girls and what they accomplished tonight at Williamsburg. We went down two games and could of cashed it in, but these girls came together and played with so much heart in the last three games to pull out the win. This was a huge team win for us,” said EC head coach Tony Alloy. For the Lady Astros, Hannah Moore had seven points, one ace, three kills, three blocks, three digs and 27 assists; Amanda Uhl had 13 points, four aces, six kills, three blocks and 13 digs; Sam Henderson had five points, five aces, nine kills and eight blocks; Julia Schwarz had three points, three aces, two kills, one block and one dig; Tessa Witkemper had seven points, two aces, 16 kills and five digs; Stephanie Pendell had two points and four blocks; and Jessie Roberts had four digs. “Jessie Roberts and Mallary Manicho both played very well in the back row,” said Alloy. The Lady Astros return to action Tuesday at home against Felicity in another SBC contest. Add as favourites (19) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 979
