LEES CREEK — The East Clinton High School volleyball team opened Southern Buckeye Conference play with a three-game win over Georgetown on Tuesday.
EC won 25-11, 25-13 and 26-24. The Lady Astros are now 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the league. “The girls played well in Games 1 and 2, but we managed to play at Georgetown’s pace in Game 3. We played with little energy and committed 11 unforced errors making the score a lot closer than it should have been. We will have to pick up the pace if we want to win against Williamsburg on Thursday,” said EC head coach Tony Alloy. For the Lady Astros, Hannah Moore had eight points, eight aces, one kill and 23 assists; Amanda Uhl had five points, two aces and eight kills; Tessa Witkemper had eight kills and one dig; Sam Henderson had nine points, three aces and seven kills; Stephanie Pendell had five points, three kills and one block; Julia Schwarz had four points and one kill; Tiffany Luttrell had four points; and Jessie Roberts had two kills and six digs. EC will play at Williamsburg on Thursday. Williamsburg is the defending SBC National Division champion. Add as favourites (13) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 947
