The East Clinton freshmen volleyball team brought home a win Tuesday by defeating Williamsburg in convincing fashion 25-15 and 25-12. Coach Ron Garner was impressed with the team’s improvement as they move to 1-1 on the season. Leading the team in serving was Erika Nunn and Jenna Moore, with Alicia Luttrell leading the team in aces. Moore and Luttrell led the team in kills. Nunn led the Astros in passing efficiency. WILLIAMSBURG — The East Clinton volleyball team started strong but couldn’t keep pace Tuesday in a 25-21, 17-25, 16-25, 13-25 loss to Williamsburg in Southern Buckeye Conference action. “For the second night in a row, we started out strong winning set one then gradually fell apart,” EC coach Tony Alloy said. “We are making too many unforced errors and making some not so good decisions on offense.” The Lady Astros are 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the SBC. LEES CREEK — The East Clinton reserve volleyball team lost to McClain Monday in their home opener, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19. Leading the Astros in service points was Erica Hughes followed by Dana Howard. Monica Flint and Howard lead the team with kills. Maria Bond lead the team in passing efficiency. Jenna Moore and Alicia Luttrell lead the team in kills and Erin Woodruff and Erika Nunn lead the team in service points and aces. Lydia Moore lead the team in passing efficiency.
