EBER — The East Clinton High School tennis team was defeated 5-0 by Miami Trace on Wednesdasy. EC falls to 6-10 on the season with the loss. “Miami Trace is a very good team. They have gotten even better from when we saw them the first match of the year. We had moments when it looked like we could challenge them for a few points but then it fizzled. We’ve lost several matches in a row and we need to get back on the winning track. We need everyone to step it up for the last three matches and look like we are hitting our peak,” said EC head coach Tom Kitchen. “We have to make a decision if we want to compete for the league title or not. I was impressed with freshmen Emily Nunn and Brandie Thompson. They usually play doubles but we split them up and played them at singles tonight against two very good opponents. They fought every point. Brooke Beam and Jamie Sholler continue to steadily improve each match. Almost every game of their match at second doubles was closely contested”
