LEES CREEK — The East Clinton High School tennis team defeated Hillsboro 3-2 on Wednesday in non-league action.

EC got wins from Amber Boris at first singles, and both doubles teams.

“This was a very good non-league win for us. Amber played really well for us and we count on that all season. Getting the sweep at doubles was a key factor in the team win. Our doubles teams are getting better and better each match,” said EC head coach Tom Kitchen.

The Lady Astro first doubles team of Ashley Evans and Jamie Sholler won 6-2, 6-3, while Emily Nunn and Brandie Thompson won 6-1, 6-0.

The Lady Astros return to action today at Blanchester in cross-county Southern Buckeye Conference play.

Amber Boris (EC) defeated M. Cupp (H) 6-1, 6-1.

A. Daivila (H) defeated Tara McKenzie (EC) 6-4, 6-1.

Gunderman (H) defeated Brittany Carpenter (EC) 6-1, 6-0.

C. Roush (H) defeated Murphy Bean (EC) 8-1.

DOUBLES

Ashley Evans and Jamie Sholler (EC) defeated C. Roush and T. Satterfield (H) 6-2, 6-3.

Emily Nunn and Brandie Thompson (EC) defeated W. Mathews and T. Murray (H) 6-1, 6-0.

M. Cupp and A. Daivila (H) defeated Jame Copeland and Karissa Young (EC) 8-0.
