LEES CREEK — The East Clinton High School tennis team defeated Goshen 3-2 in Southern Buckeye Conference action on Tuesday.

The Lady Astros are now 5-7 on the season and 4-4 in league play.

EC got wins from Amber Boris, Tara McKenzie and the doubles team of Brittany Carpenter and Ashley Evans.

“ We rebounded well from our loss last night. Amber did a great job at first singles. Tara McKenzie had the best game of her season at second singles tonight. Brittany Carpenter did a nice job stepping into first doubles with Ashely Evans. Overall we played well,” said EC head coach Tom Kitchen.

EC returns to action Monday at Clinton-Massie.

Amber Boris (EC) defeated K. Cornell (G) 6-0, 6-0.

Tara McKenzie (EC) defeated S. Shinkle (G) 6-1, 6-4.

Murphy Bean (EC) was defeated by H. Rose (G) 1-6, 4-6.

DOUBLES

Brittany Carpenter/Ashley Evans (EC) defeated H. Hulsmeyer/H. Musgrove (G) 6-4, 6-3.

Emily Nunn/Brandie Thompson (EC) were defeated by S. Shinkle/K. Tucker (G) 4-6, 5-7.
