GREEN TOWNSHIP — After losing a couple of close matches, the East Clinton golf team pulled out a close one Monday with a three-shot win over Miami Trace at Snow Hill Country Club.

“I was proud of the guys,” said EC coach Matt Schneider. “We lost a couple pretty tough matches as of late, one by two and one by one, and this was another close one but we came out ahead for the victory.”

Luke LaPine’s 46 proved to the be difference in the end. The Astros’ fifth place golfer shot a 46 to help erase a three-shot East Clinton deficit.

GREEN TOWNSHIP — The East Clinton golf team lost a two-stroke match Thursday to Fairfield at Snow Hill Country Club, 182 to 184.

Grant Woods and Garrett Woods both shot 43s to lead the Astros.

Ian Adams of Fairfield was the match medalist with a 41.

SPRINGFIELD — Facing former Kenton Trace Conference rival Southeastern, the East Clinton golf team lost a one-stroke match Wednesday at Locust Hills Golf Club.

The Astros shot a 179 while the Trojans carded a 178.

Grant Woods of East Clinton was the overall match medalist, shooting a 40. Travis Rodgers of Southeastern had a 42.

GREEN TOWNSHIP — The East Clinton golf team powered its way past Hillsboro by 10 strokes Wednesday in a non-league golf match here at Snow Hill Country Club.

The Astros, led by Grant Woods, shot a 169 while the Indians came in with a 179.

“This was a nice victory,” said EC coach Matt Schneider. “The 169 is the lowest score during my tenure as coach. I was really happy with the guys the way they played in unstable weather conditions.”
