LEES CREEK — The Waynesville Spartans managed to hold on for the win over the East Clinton Astros in Junior varsity football action Saturday, 18-14. Waynesville took a 6–0 lead when fullback Justin Stanley crossed the goal line with 4:23 left in the first quarter. The Astros’ first score came defensively with 2:01 remaining in the half when defensive tackle Garrett Knisley deflected a Spartan pass attempt. The ball was then picked off by outside linebacker Dalton Rothwell who carried the ball on a 46-yard return for an East Clinton touchdown which tied the score 6–6.
