The East Clinton seventh grade girls basketball team defeated Blanchester 33-18. The Lady Astros outscored the Lady Cats 15-0 in the second quarter. Brooke Carpenter and Teghan Kidder played well for East Clinton and Jessica Dunn hustled all over the court, coach Mel Bean said.
Dunn had 14 rebounds, three steals, three assists and five points. Carpenter had 14 points, including a pair of three-pointers, three assists and three steals. Kidder had 10 points, including 4-for-4 at the free throw line, two rebounds and two steals. Jessica Mack had five rebounds, four points and three blocked shots. Kayley Bergstrom had two points, two assists and four steals. Morgan Morrow had four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Sarah and Rebecca Lockhart combined for five points. Caitlynn Farrell had two steals and a rebound.
