The East Clinton seventh grade girls basketball team defeated Mt. Orab, 43-36, in the Southern Buckeye Conference tournament. “The girls played a great game on both ends of the court,” said EC head coach Mel Bean. Morgan Morrow had 14 points, eight rebounds and two steals. The East Clinton eighth grade girls basketball team finished its season with a tournament loss to Batavia, 21-12. Stephanie Habermehl, Ashley Carpenter and Brittany Jackson had four points each for the Lady Astros. Jackson led with 10 rebounds while Hannah Barnes grabbed nine and Jessica Larrick was credited with four. Kaylee Parrish had one rebound. LEES CREEK — East Clinton defeated Felicity 37-24 in a reserve girls basketball game Feb. 13. The Lady Astros are now 11-8 on the year and 8-6 against Southern Buckeye Conference foes. Beth Huffman was top scorer, putting 13 points through the net for ECHS. Amber Ostrander had six points and Jordan Watson scored four. Jessica Bond and Chelsea O’Dell had three points each.
