Jefferson jumped out to a big 7-0 lead after three innings of play, and then held off Kalida’s furious comeback attempt. The K-Cats had cut their deficit to only three runs at 7-4 by adding a solo run in the fourth inning and then by plating three runs in the top of the fifth stanza. Jefferson rebounded though and added solo insurance runs in the home-half of the fifth and sixth innings.

Sean Fisher (4 2/3 innings, 4 runs, 4 hits, 5 K, 1 BB, 1 HP, 4 ER) collected the win for the D-Cats, while Adam Berheide  (2 1/3 innings, 7 runs, 7 hits, 5 K, 1 BB, 7 ER) absorbed the setback for the K-Cats.
