HILLSBORO — A big second quarter helped Clinton-Massie to a 67-33 win Monday over Hillsboro in South Central Ohio League girls basketball action.

Jordanne Gambill led the Lady Falcons with 23 points and four steals.

“Our half-court defense gave them some problems,” CM head coach Allen Wilkinson said. “We ran the floor well, which you can do when you rebound.”

Again leading the rebounding charge for Clinton-Massie was Kelsey Ward, who hauled down 15. Ward, who has four straight games with 10-plus rebounds, had 13 rebounds in the first half, nine of which were offensive.

“She’s been a catalyst on the boards and her interior defense is so good,” Wilkinson said of Ward.

Brooke Sargent tossed in 13 points and Stacy Lunsford added 11.

Clinton-Massie made 24 of 52 field goal attempts, but only 2 for 10 in the third quarter. The rest of the game, the Lady Falcons were 22 for 42.

Clinton-Massie is 11-7 on the year and 6-4 in the SCOL.
