DAYTON — For eight minutes, Clinton-Massie made the state’s No. 2 Division III team, Middletown Madison, look like the No. 2 team on the floor. That was until Madison stepped on the accelerator midway through the second quarter for a 13-0 run. The Mohawks (22-0) went on to rout the Falcons 64-39 in a Division III boys’ sectional tournament matchup Monday at the University of Dayton Arena. “Our kids didn’t come out scared,” Massie head coach Brian Mudd said. “But, against a team like that, you have to play a perfect basketball game and we didn’t play a perfect game.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (5) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 94 |

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Neighboring rivals Clinton-Massie and Waynesville battled to the wire Monday night with the Spartans coming out on top, 65-56, in a non-league boys basketball game. “This game resembles so many of our losses this year, in which we play well, but just can’t make those one or two plays you need to make to the game … whether it’s knocking down a shot, getting a defensive stop or getting a loose ball when the game is on the line,” said CM coach Brian Mudd. Clinton-Massie is 6-13 on the year. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (6) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 112 |

The Clinton-Massie freshman boys basketball team rallied for a win Monday over Waynesville, 32-22. The Falcons trailed 13-8 at the half, then outscored the Spartans 24-9 in the second half. “This was a great win,” said coach Tim McGraw. “We really struggled the first half with their zone defense. The boys deserve all the credit for a great second half and a great season. They were a great group to coach.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (5) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 90 |
