WILMINGTON — Aubrey Trampler led a strong Clinton County performance at the Wilmington Invitational on Friday.

The CM senior took first in three individual events and was a member of a championship relay team as well.

Massie finished second overall, coming in behind host Wilmington.

Trampler won the long jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Also for Massie, shandra Hamilton won the 1,600 run and Shelby Frey won the 800. In relay action, the 4x800 team of Hamilton, Alexis Percy, Frey and Aubrey Johnson took first with a season record time. Also, the Cm 4x100 team of Caitlyn Medley, Shelby Goodin, Brooke Lamb and Trampler finished in a personal record time for the quartet.

Our distance crew had an outstanding night on the track. Mariah Rhoads, Shandra Hamilton, Shelby Frey, Alexis Percy and Aubrey Johnson all had personal records to help bring home the runner-up trophy,” said CM head coach Andy Copeland. “We knew going in that Wilmington’s depth and the bigger schools. Our goal was to bring home the runner-up trophy and beat league school Hillsboro. I am proud of the girls for meeting those goals.”

For the host Lady Hurricane, Lyndsey crowe won the discus and took second in the shot put, while the pole vault duo of Tara Bowman and Nicole Hope took first and second, respectively with the same height of 10-6.

Also for the Lady Hurricane, Caitlyn Craycraft took first in the 200 dash.

In relay action, the WHS 4x400 team took first.

“It turned into a nice evening and everyone a good time. The pole vault tandem of Hope and Bowman continues to impress. Craycraft had a real good night and is beginning to make some noise,” said WHS head coach Roger Ilg. “Lyndsey Crowe is starting to be more consistant in the discus and has just missed out on some good throws. The team is getting better but still needs work and conditioning.”

Massie will return to action Thursday for the Old KTC pole vault at CMHS and the Old KTC meet at Waynesville which will include other county schools East Clinton and Blanchester.

Wilmington track and field will be at Kings on Tuesday.
