Andrew McFarland Sports Intern High school spring sports regular seasons are coming to a close, which means the beginning of sectional tournaments.
As far as local schools, the highest seed goes to the Blanchester High School softball team. The Lady ’Cats earned a No. 2 seed in the Division III Dayton sectional tournament. They will play either Badin or Northridge on May 14 at Waynesville High School. The Blanchester High School baseball team will play its first sectional game on Monday at 5 p.m. The Wildcats are the No. 7 seed in the Division III Cincinnati sectional. They will play Deer Park, which is the No. 10 seed, at home. The Clinton-Massie High School softball team will play its first sectional tournament game at home on Monday at 5 p.m. The Lady Falcons are the No. 6 seed, and they will play the No. 8 seed Preble Shawnee in Division II Dayton sectional action. The East Clinton Astros baseball team will play its first sectional game at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The No. 10 seed Astros will take on No. 1 seed Badin at Badin High School in Division III Dayton play. The Wilmington Hurricane baseball team will play on Tuesday. Wilmington is the No. 11 seed, and they will take on No. 8 seed Bellbrook at 5 p.m. at Bellbrook High School. The teams play in the Division II Dayton sectional. The Wilmington High School softball team will play on Thursday. The Lady Hurricane is the No. 5 seed and it will play the winner of the Monroe/Franklin game at home at 5 p.m in Division II Dayton sectional action. The Clinton-Massie High School softball team — also in the Division II Dayton sectional — will play its first tournament game on Tuesday at Talawanda at 5 p.m. The East Clinton High School softball team will play its first sectional game on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Waynesville High School. The Lady Astros are the No. 9 seed, and they will play No. 3 seed Carlisle in Division III Dayton play.
