BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester High School girls soccer team defeated Clinton-Massie in cross-county action on Thursday.
The Lady Wildcats are now 1-1 on the season while Massie falls to 0-2. For the Lady Wildcats, Tori Richardson netted the first goal with 6:30 remaining in the first half off a Kaitie Zike assist. Then to open the second half, Zike scored unassisted with 39:28 left in the contest. Massie’s goal was scored off a direct kick inside the 15-minute mark of the contest. BHS goalkeeper Ashley Smithson made 13 saves. “Overall we played a lot better than we did on Tuesday. We took 17 shots on goal,” said BHS head coach Gary Monds. “Chelsea Wisniewski played really well in the midfield.” BHS returns to action 5 p.m. Tuesday at Felicity.
