Blanchester 8th grade girls win SBC North title PDF Print E-mail

The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team won the Southern Buckeye Conference North Division championship this season.

The young Lady Cats were 10-8 overall and were defeated by New Richmond, 30-22, in the SBC North/South championship game. In that game, Marie Lawson led Blanchester with seven points.

Sam Parker scored six and Sydney Doughman put through four points. Courtney Lucas contributed three points and Alana Florea chipped in with two points.

Blanchester’s Jake Howe gets a congratulatory hug from Steve Meyer Thursday morning as Howe and head coach Bryan Pennix toured the school in a Walk of Champions. Howe won his second consecutive state wrestling championship Saturday in Columbus.

COLUMBUS — As the emotion of a long journey finally bubbled over, Blanchester senior Jake Howe was hugging family and friends in the aftermath of his second state wrestling championship Saturday at the Schottenstein Center on the Ohio State University campus.
