WILLIAMSBURG — A win by New Richmond in the final match of the night gave the Lions the Southern Buckeye Conference wrestling championship Saturday over the Blanchester Wildcats. The Wildcats were winning by 1.5 points going into the heavyweight championship match. A win by Bethel-Tate would have given the team title to Blanchester. A win by New Richmond and the Lions would claim the crown. “Bethel-Tate was winning by five with 40 seconds left,” said BHS head coach Bryan Pennix, who was named co-coach of the year in the league. “New Richmond ended up pinning the Bethel kid and won the tournament for them.” Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (9) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 175 |
