BLANCHESTER — A second set rally by Batavia proved to be the difference as Blanchester lost a tough Southern Buckeye Conference match Thursday night, 25-20, 23-25, 25-10, 20-25, and 14-16. “This loss breaks my heart because of how hard the girls played,” BHS head coach Hannah Hertlein said. “We had a big lead in the second set, but let Batavia off the hook when we let one server go on a run to even the score. We needed to win that set because the third set we completely crushed them in scoring.” Blanchester is now 1-1 overall, both matches being against SBC foes.
